In Memory Of

It is when we cannot forgive ourselves
That we repeat the things we cannot forgive
And thus sink further down
Into our own hells – Nine Dragons, March 31st, 2026

Standing in the rain, I think of you
Your heart flowed not the ebbing blood,
But pulsed with the purest truth.
Tho’ far were we flung, from a moral world
You were the temple of my youth—
Even now, the sun I stride below,
The moon and silver glow,
That lets my mind rest from the toils,
That would work against an honest soul.
My sister, both cleansing rain
And rainbow,
That give grace the golden wold,
Peace the wand’ring fold,
As man wakes from a dream
He slept manically—
Raving ‘gainst kin and country
That gave him home.
Must needs these deeds
Be forgiven and forgot.
All men sooner stand
Before their lot,
And judgment’s hand
For what they wrought.
Let not these few,
Flicker the flame within you,
Thy body, thy shelter,
Nor the rain that soothe
Can ever be sullied
(Lest ye choose)
by hatreds beyond truths
That would rally
Man against man
Rending souls in the bargain
Merely stand still
And lend and ear
To the heart’s will.
Let go of pain.
Let soothe, the rain,
And let thy cup fill

Thank You, Sister
