In Me
I did not know I had it in me
To bring another person glee.
That my words could bring a smile
And we could sit and laugh a while.
Isn’t this, how life should be?
How sweet are days when frivolity
Can hold the course for all to see.
What great interludes beguile
I did not know this open ease.
There used to be hostility
Until I freed the child in me
And set him loose to play in style
Where a younger lad could rule the aisle
And care-free actions be set free
I did not know I could so please.
