In Loving Memory
Stillness greeted my gaze
You always lifted that haze
You always knew when I was blue
I miss you, I miss your smile,
The tickle was my cue
to laugh awhile with you
You always taught me to be kind
You were my hero, my first love
And I knew, come what may
You would guide and protect me
My wings are open I’m in flight
I know you have me covered in your sight
I will always follow your guiding light
The things unspoken meant a lot
That guiding hand that indulgent gaze
Took me through life’s maze
And now I stand with my son in hand
Teaching him all the things
you taught me to do
Dad oh my Dad I miss and love you.
