In Light of Those Things To Come

Into this life we came with nothing
and we shall surely leave the same way.
In truth, the greater matter
is what we live from day to day.

Why seek those affections which pale
in light of those things to come ?
We dine as His sons and daughters,
not foraging these fleeting crumbs.

We must see with a single eye
and nowhere be divided,
for Satan persistently seeks
for us to be blind sided.

The race is set before us
and we must be of that mind to run.
So we press ever harder toward the prize
unto the day our race is run.

The proof of this Kingdom living
is that our lives are found in the Son.
In Love, our lives we are giving
until our work on earth is done.

A marvelous message of truth and faith! Love the easy flow to this and of course the clear message as well. Michael

How uncanny...I had just read another write before this one and my thoughts were to it were very similar to the first stanza of this write. A lot of truth in this write. 'Why seek those affections which pale in light of those things to come' is a question that leaves one to ponder about their lives. A very thought provoking write Douglas
