He rides in his truck; she works in the field. In his truck, he's king of the long road Time doesn't stand still, in the truck time flowed Early morn out in the garden, she kneeled Nature and God to her each day was revealed When life got stressed, problems solved at crossroads He rides in his truck She gathered the food, prepared the large yield Cooked their meals, preserved, froze, pickled boatload She's now home, not in the field, time has slowed Time for him is sealed, as he keeps his eyes peeled He rides in his truck.

Love this family consisting of a hardworking husband and wife. They don't have too many aspirations, but find joy in the fulfillment of their simple daily pursuits and lead a happy life. Now life has naturally slowed for them with age. Beautifully written, Sara.

Valsa, Yes, there are many in our world who live a simple life but do or have had aspirations. However, life's demands keep them from ever fulfilling their dreams. Dreams are good even if they never become real. Your comments are spot on. Thanks for adding your interpretation to my comments. Sara

Sara, your poem is so beautiful, about such a strong hardworking man, the glimpse back through time and though aging, still alert. My dad had a truck, I purchased it a few years ago, it was one of his prized possessions. This poem resonated with me, I love it so much!

Thank you, Lasaad. I appreciate the kind review of my work. I liked that snapshot as well. Age brings its disabilities. Your visit is spectacular. Sara

Looks like all he can do is ride in the truck. At least he is there for emotional support, but I would just ask to stay home and watch tv!! She is doing all the work and that's sad to me but seems to be what happens when one partner is disabled with time.
