In Her Eyes Lakes of Mercury and Dreams

In Her Eyes Lakes of Mercury and Dreams

In her eyes a lake of dreams floats like mercury through the cosmic light so bright,
with waves that dance in psychedelic sun playing with the jade rays in their flight,
and in her depths a magic turmoil grips her like a crystal storm within,
when all the suitors crave her like a fairy from tales written in stars' spin.

In nights when the moon is a saint sculpted from translucent white velvet's glow,
of prayers and stars that shine like silver butterflies trapped in the void below,
with her thoughts she crosses galaxies violins sing symphonies of liquid light,
and I try to win her with trembling fingers of love and cosmic longing's sight.

Around her the garden shines like a magic temple covered in living flowers bright,
with flowers that smile at her at dawn like mouths of shimmering amber light,
and every petal whispers "I love you" in nature's secret alphabet divine,
when her eyes begin to wake from their velvet sleep and translucent dream's design.

It's not my fault that I love her so much with a heart that burns like flame,
but her fault that she's beautiful like a magic apparition from beyond without shame,
and if I were to listen to my heart in its psychedelic drumbeat's pounding call,
I'd want her at my doorstep like a bride dressed in stars standing tall.

I'm sad and hope so much that maybe someday I'll be loved by her at last,
that maybe her jade hands will touch my face like a sacred cosmic altar cast,
that's why I want to listen to her heart in its rhythm of molten mercury's cascade,
and for her to give it all to me like a magic offering burned on love's altar made.

It's maybe my last thought floating like a flake of ash through the empty universe cold,
because I won't be immortal but just cosmic dust carried by wind that's grown old,
let there be a being crying with tears of liquid silver when I am gone away,
when I'll be a cross in memory engraved on the cold stone of eternal forgetting gray.

My heart is so bleeding like a living wound pulsing in my amber chest so sore,
and I speak my pain only in verse in tongues of fire and ice melting at the core,
my life is bitterly moribund like a butterfly dying in translucent amber's hold,
and I believe this is my path through the cosmic desert of love never shared or told.
