In Each Passing Cloud
In Each Passing Cloud
In each passing cloud I glimpse my late sister
I blow kisses to show her how I miss her
She used to say she’d love to journey through space
On a fluffy cloud to some faraway place.
When we were young we loved watching clouds pass by
And guessing what pictures they placed up on high
I still do it though I am well past my prime
It's a lovely way to spend passage of time.
No doubt my sister plays the guessing game too
Obviously she’d have a much clearer view
Looking at picturesque clouds from high above
With me down below and her sunny side up.
Hopefully sis sees me in each passing cloud
And remembers when we were once girls aloud
How we’d heartily sing at top of our voice
At church on Sunday singing songs of rejoice.
I grieve o’er my sister and life seems empty
How I’d love to hold her in hugs aplenty
Till we meet someday I’ll play our favoured game
With each passing cloud I will honour her name.
