Graham, thank you for "reading" and for leaving your uplifting comment. I enjoyed your poem about the misguided spider. Cheers ~ John

John your message speaks volumes. More importantly it shows he has no support whatsoever from anyone that has a conscience. This write of yours does not express humour in the least, its purpose in my humble opinion, is to Cleverly demonstrate no one agrees or supports his decision in waging war against Ukraine. Your message is Clear, THERE IS NO DEFENSE FOR HIS ACTIONS. A favorite John, for your special wit. God bless you...

You captured my intention perfectly, Michael. I'm sure my title alarmed several Soup members but when they saw my wordless statement that there is no defense, it became clear to them. Thank you for your gracious affirmation and for faving this. Blessings ~ John

I see the humour you wish to convey. When rational people look at the horror of the possibility of an unwinnable Nuclear war and an unimaginable Nuclear holocaust, it becomes disgusting to see and hear the frivolity expressed by so many. Where are the peacemakers. I only see barbarians in the East and the West. People are dying and suffering in the Ukraine. It's not funny.

Dennis, thank you for your thoughtful comment. There was no intension to be funny in posting this, just a desire to be thought-provoking and provide a venue for people to vent their frustration about this madman and the atrocities of his invasion, using minimalist irony. I apologize to anyone who thinks I was trying to garner a laugh at the expense of the sufferings of the Ukrainians ~ John

Thank you very much, Brian. I'm glad you understand my minimalist irony. There isn't anything to cheer about a man with no redeeming qualities. I like your suggestion, though. Warmly ~ John

OH, i fell for this one John, 'What the hell is there to defend' ran through my mind as i clicked on to your page. Although in hindsight, being blank, ironically makes for discussion. I'm looking at the comment below.

Harry, I think you hit the nail on the head; I wanted the commenters to be the star of this show. So many have written eloquently and emotionally about this madman, I felt I had nothing to add to their articulate poems. Thanks for the visit my friend, hope your day is going well ~ John

You could never think of a better way to express yourself about this monster - kudos. Hugs and blessings Jennifer.

You are right about that, Jennifer. Many have written eloquently, but words escape me. I pray God thwarts all his plans and that Ukraine stands firm in their valor and resolute opposition to this madman.

I wondered what you could possibly have written in defense of such a demon. I felt my facial expression change from a frown to a smile. Hugs for this clever non-use of words. They resound quite loudly.

Hi Jenna, sorry for the scare, lol. I wracked my brain but couldn't think of a single argument in his defense. Sometimes silences speaks louder than words. Thanks for stopping by ~ John

POTY! Poem of the Year. The title intrigued me, and the message sure is a winner! Bravo. The devil and Cal Coolidge be shamed! Smiles, Gershon

GW, in music composition there is a lot of emphasis on using silence to good effect. Composer John Cage used this strategy to maximum effect with his composition 4'33" (you can google that for an interesting rabbit trail). Thanks for the visit and for the hearty endorsement.

Thanks for the thumbs up, Edward, but I would hate to take the honor away from a poet who actually wrote a poem, lol. Enjoy your day, sir.

Hard to believe that this is where his plans have led him. I was reading today about Catherine the Great and how she "expanded Russia's East and South borders" as though that were some heroic thing to do. He must delusionally think of himself as a Russian hero.
