In Darkness

When the darkness came
And the light faded

It was then when she sat
With her head in the clouds
And her heart anchoring to the ground

It was then that she felt
More pain than ever before
And when she cried
Tears that nobody saw

It was then that she recalled
All the people that left
And the ones who hurt her
And helped her
And guided her
And stayed

It was when the clock struck twelve
When she missed them the most
And when she was more thankful
Than ever before

It was when the darkness came
And the light faded
When she felt more than she ever felt before

A very nice flow to this poem, peaceful in its observation and feeling. There is hope in the dark. Good write. Bob
