In Awhile - At First Glance Contest

I could see him across the studio
Talking and smiling, my heart was aglow
Hair curling at nape, dimpled smile
Please let him notice me in awhile

I mixed with the people it was a first day
The gallery showing my work today
Making sure he wouldn't miss my dimpled smile
Please let him notice me in awhile

Taking my courage in my hands that was a task
Handed him a leaflet, saying any questions please ask
Our eyes met, looking away was a trial
Please let him notice me in awhile

He shook my hand not letting it fall
I looked smiling slowly, can I help you at all
Can explain my art, said I trying to beguile
Please let him really notice me in awhile

Maybe dinner tonight I said being bold
I make a fantastic pasta dish I am told
Would love to he answered with a smile
He had noticed me in that short while.
