Notes About The Poem

In a Zen Breath
In a Zen Breath
In my Zen garden I have created a tranquil place,
the peace and serenity I find there- I embrace.
It started as nothing but emptiness but I had a plan,
installed window boxes with the help of a handyman.
And also got hooks for hanging green ivy that lingers,
oh, I love how they creep with their reaching fingers.
I selected flowers for their blooms and their softness,
and over the summer I have build a garden fortress !
Each new 'morn I go there to meditate and find peace,
where all tension and worries I am able to release.
Oh, now my garden created is my my safe haven,
although, today I was visited by a huge black raven.
He was big and fierce looking and was gazing at me,
but when I stood up and got closer he did not flee.
We looked at each other and I felt his strength healing,
I saw his wisdom, and his great energy- I was feeling.
I think most people identify the black raven with death
but today I have found my spirit animal in a Zen breath.
