In a Treasured Box

Sometimes we grow a bit complacent on the inside

When bridges are being burned
The lessons of life are being learned;
In a treasured box we then begin to reflect
Having a notion of inner silence we then neglect;

A treasured rose that was plucked some time ago,

On a lone blade of grass to absorb;
A promise that was once made in dark
Has now come to the fullest extent in light
In a treasured box on top of bed;

With golden lights where mere mortals tred,

In common place behind the vestibule

We glance out on its societal view
Amidst sudden jealousy & glitz

So much for putting on the ritz
On a chartered course out to sea
A main quest of romance;
Perhaps she would be so inclined to marry me

As many years have passed still having every reason by which to grasp,

In a treasured box lined in gold;
You will do as you are told until the rights to you are sold!
