Another desolate day the sun has dipped his face No longer will I have to pretend My mind is astray lost in a shadowed place darkness has become my friend Unable to convey what I should erase this heartache I cannot mend How can I allay the pains I embrace when fear forces me to descend

Beautiful tercets Lin. I love the length of the lines and how you chose your rhyme. And the content.... I can relate to it. Hugs.

Yes! This fits exactly into a depressive state of mind! I've been there before, and hope to never go there again, it is such a dark and scary place, loneliness and sadness prevail! This is a wonderful depiction of depression, what a perfect poem with a wonderful rhyme scheme! Great Work Lin!!

Thank you, Frederick. Although my life is blessed with light now, I spent a year in a shadowed place that was not of my making. Your compliment about my ability to write sad poems is taken to heart and appreciated. I can create some pretty silly ones, too ;-)

I found this to be exactly as titled, Lin. It made it clear to me that I do not want to stay to long!

It must also be terrifying. Let's hope we never reach that point. Thanks, Jan.

It is, Anne-Lise, and I don't know how or why it took shape, but there is. Thanks.
