In a Pink World
I live in a pink world,
and I am pink.
I'd rather be blue or red
or yellow,
or just make me green.
Put me in a forest of green,
deep within its beautiful
ferns and leafy fronds.
Let rain fall sofly
and richly,
and I will soak
it up
like a woman dying
of thirst
in a pink desert
in this pink world
where I am expected
to be a princess
by everyone
except the green forest
and the rain.
