In a Dream

You were so close
I swear I could smell you
Taste your body heat.
Eye to eye each movement in sync,
So fast spinning, twisting, grasping and pulling away from each other.
Were we fighting,
Or making love?

Screaming and whispers becoming one,
Like blood and saliva ,
Anger and love.
I look at you but cannot understand,
Lips moving but silence is all I hear.

Help me understand,
This dream in which I’m bleeding.
Why do you drive the dagger,
Into the heart you hold?
Why do you pull me closer,
Every time I want to let go?
