Impulsively, No More
I’d let you kiss me
if it meant my secrets wouldn’t
escape past my mouth,
if I could look past the ghosts,
and never force open that
chamber in my heart again,
if I could build a church in you
and never let loose my sins.
I'm not used to opening these doors
and you continue to push at my core.
Can’t you see that this
jigsaw heart just can’t take anymore?
I should walk away, but
instead I
push you away,
because there is no cure and
this is the best defense
to this disease.
I’d let you kiss me
if it simply meant
nothing more.
