Impressed

Here come the tears again,
Trickling down in warm resolve, warm acceptance, and salty silence

Here they are again,
Wounding my memories in all that calls to experience’s despair
Absorbing every collapse, and every mangled misapprehension
Misunderstanding the purpose of a strong heart
For a weak moment to thrive…

Here, alone, it seems they always dissolve,
My skin moist, rippling in the thought of your absence
Crawling in the indemnity of your oblivious composure

Seeing the double door open and close,
Reaching out with a hand so anxious for you to understand
So drenched from attempting to dry these torrential tears
In time, they always dissolve into that unbearable acceptance and silence

His lips parted to speak,
Sharply, with a nervous edge
I tried to focus on his eyes, as I my own threatened to free its sorrows
And I stood there, like a fool, taking in words that would later break me...

“I was impressed.”

Were you?

Take them all!
Swim in them!
You still will never know my pain…

I'm not sure if I'm liking this person, right now, that's causing you so much frustration. Maybe S.O.'s suggestion isn't so bad. "I was impressed ...... were you?" All I see are the avenues into your inner emotions, but I'm barred from seeing the specific situation. What was he impressed by...? But in the end, it's how that person made you feel, not the specific occurrence, that will make you remember him.

Wahgah..yeah...this person I write about a lot in my poetry, especially in my older works...sorry in advance for putting you in the dark for some of them. Nevertheless, I treasure your perceptions and thoughtful feedback. Sometimes the intense feelings I tried to convey here return and I feel the need to write about him again or at least write about how my experience with this person effects me. Thanks again my friend! ~Laura

I think only the people you care about can make you feel this aggravated. The tragicomedy that is Life!

So, you are not getting what you need from this person? That is unfortunate. I honestly think that something in the brain is triggered by the behavior and appearance of the person we are looking at that can cause us to fall for someone who will never give us what we want. This is such a strange thing. I know all about this. Unfortunately, I find myself thinking about it years later, and I can't explain it. It makes no sense to me. So, we move on, but we never forget the ouch. OUCH!!!

Pain comes harder from words than the sword you must hardened your soul for it is you and last for eternity. For it to carry on you must face this person with all your weapons and show them that a hard soul is not the side of you they want to deal with. Stand tall and carry a big soul! ~Kilmewr

Ah, to feel so deeply can actually isolate a person, my friend...If only one can dictate how one should feel in the face of such lack of perception...

Heyah Kim. Yes, this experience has isolated me from many people for quite some time, though I am learning to express these inner feelings and just let them fly away. The tears return at times, and accepting what's true can be difficult, but freeing. Thank you for being such a wonderful supporter. I always appreciate your thoughts. Many many thanks! ~Laura

"Here, alone, it seems they always dissolve, My skin moist, rippling in the thought of your absence, Crawling in the indemnity of your oblivious composure" I love this stanza. It makes me experience each thing you have been through.
