Impatient Winds

With my weary steps
my weary shadow
sways and staggers
slowly,

   as impatient winds
   nudge me on and I
   must obey
   grudgingly;

for now I must leave
this ancient vale in whose
deep, loamy bosom
lie

   living memories
   of living yesteryears,
   loved ones for whom I
   sigh.
