Immortal New Life
We mortals fight the boundaries of time
as helplessly we rush headlong towards death
like fragile flowers, bloom, then fade and die
we sing and shout, then slowly lose our breath.
Yet God has promised life to those who wait
until that day, when He will come again
and raise believers, bursting from the grave
transformed to bodies new, that never end.
Creator God, who knit us in the womb
has authored every life upon this earth
and Christ, who conquered death, rose from that tomb
to give us life immortal and new birth.
How marvelous to never know decay
and feel invigorated, endless youth
no sickness, sorrow, suffering or pain
we'll glory in God's presence and His truth.
