Imagined Soul Ascent

Imagined soul ascent,
an egoic delusion,
for when we are tested,
we sink in the quicksand,
finding ourselves bested.

Imagined soul ascent,
conceals hidden desire
to become what we’re not,
being yet stuporous,
in grooves of habit caught.

Imagined soul ascent,
negates here now this-ness
of consciousness status,
waiting for divine grace,
to heal our hiatus.

Imagined soul ascent,
as yearning of our heart,
signals we’re yet in mind,
insentient to bliss,
to reality blind.
