Imagine

Imagine
the world
swept clean
of life

sent back in time
when it was silent
and empty

Imagine
not being alive
not existing
at all

Because your parents
were never born
and your grandparents were
never born and
on and on and on

Imagine
how blank
everything
would be

how different
the world would be
if nobody ever
inhabited it

The air would be clean
but nobody would be there
to enjoy it

There would be no pollution or noise
because nobody would be there
to cause it

The world would just
continue meandering
about the sun

while we were
in the land of the nonexistent

Just imagine...
