Imagine

Imagine a friend being there for you
While they were dealing with their own demons?
Imagine a friend answering your every call, your every text, talking you through every scenario you threw their way, while it was there down season?
Where they felt as if they were living inside a box
Suffocating without a key to a lock

Imagine that friend being there for you
But you were so consumed with your own view
You did not notice, even with all the clues
As they smiled to fix you when were down and blue
They were always there supporting to make sure you grew and pursued

Imagine that friend not answering your call or text today
As they were dealing with something serious that they constantly displayed
An you started to get angry while they were away
Not realizing that they would not make it through the day

Imagine when you see your friend, their face is plastered on the news
Another person posted as a number, as their story concludes
Losing their battle on a Sunday afternoon

Imagine you thinking your friend left you with nothing but pain
But that was never their intention, as they were completely drowning and drained
But they left you a gift to be felt not explained
The light that they passed to you can be felt with your every vein
The time that they spent with you is not to be taken lightly as it was never a game
To realize your potential and the life you could obtain
And even if they are not present, in your heart they will always remain
