IMAGINATION

Inspiration should come from our own minds
Many poets are cheating, shame on them
AI is killing creativity!
Galling when people accept the glory ~
It's obvious a chatbot's written it!
No need to plagiarise, sadly some do
All of us have brain cells, put them to use!
Themes like nature are a good place to start
I get inspired by beauty around me
Often contest prompts entice folk to write
Now pick up your pen and write from the heart

All should play with their poems, not AI. Look in a thesaurus and rhyme dictionaries for good words to use, not forced. They will find what fun they can have with memories and perspective!

Jan, every line conveys a crucial message. Your poem critiques the use of AI and plagiarism in the making of art while stressing the value of uniqueness and individual creativity in poetry writing.

Thanks Sotto, i can just about tolerate the use of AI - its people cheating by using a bot to write their poem, but plagiarism is a different matter:-( hugs Jan xx

Rather like mine you commented earlier, we need to keep sending out the message and hope some see the light. Take care Richard

Thanks Richard and sadly I (and others who write about plagiarism) still get bullied and belittled by some for continuing to raise the subject! hugs jan xx

Jan, so well done and so true. I stand by my POTD poem about plagiarism no matter who tries to point fingers. There is no place for AI or plagiarists on PS. It makes the soup tainted and spoiled. History often repeats itself as we have witnessed. What happened to honesty and integrity?

they can point fingers all they like Tania .AI is lazy poetry getting a bot to write it for you but plagiarism is theft and not just from a dead poet. sad times indeed on soup:-( hugs Jan x

Each line has an important message, Jan. Too much incessantly redundant disrespect in Deb's blog. My first comment to her compared it to a zoo where people were throwing peanuts at the monkeys, only it was the disrespectful monkeys who were throwing poop at respectful poets.

Lin it saddens me to see the use of AI and plagiarism defended. I have mailed Deb about her blog as i would only have vitriol hurled at me as we know that outside of our poetry page those we have blocked have free rein to comment where we have. hugs jan xx
