Imagination

I’m still battling my flaws
Am I the right person to love you?
I want to become a better man
For both you and me.

I want to overcome my self doubt
Fighting back against the thoughts
Telling me I’m not good enough for you
The same thoughts telling me to leave

I can’t expect you to fix everything;
Only I can work on what’s wrong with me.
You’re not the missing puzzle piece
That will solve all my turmoil.

But I still want to call you mine
At the end of the night.
I want to make sure no one else
Can claim you as theirs.

You’re more than I ever wanted.
What we have is unfolding
Far better than I imagined,
And I’m excited to see where it leads.

Let’s erase this picture-perfect image
And paint our own canvas as we go.
It doesn’t have to be perfect,
It just has to be us.
