Imagination
One child went to the moon and back
The other went to Pluto
The first one said there’s nothing there
But the other said there’s mucho
One kid sees in black and white
Another in shades of grey
One Childs’ thoughts may be finite
The other lets the imagination play
One may grow up stiff and stern
The other one happy and free
The future starts not when a child is born
But what their mind can see
Now some may say no one learns this way
Focus is what gives life a start
But imagination wins the day
When it’s allowed to play a part
Teach the child to do well in school
To stay on the right track
But mix in a little of Pluto’s rule
and the child will never look back
Life is a journey, and though the present is now
What it can be is not
The dreamer’s dream will somehow show
what the moon’s child forgot.
