I’m writing to you out of habit - Daily joy or a duty of my heart. I can’t deny it – desired and favorite, A nice pursuit when we are apart. You read my letters out of habit - Daily joy or politeness of you, Something nice to a morning omelet Or to a cup of tea – it may be true… You don’t answer me out of habit - You’re unconventional or impolite, Or not in the habit of being intimate. It may be too big an effort to write… Yet, I’m writing to you out of habit - It’s a real joy and a duty of my heart. I can’t deny it – desired and favorite, A nice pursuit when we are apart…
