I'M Wishing

I’m wishing again to be part of your life,
Your lover, your wife.

I’m wishing unbidden words could be stricken
And writ unwritten.

I’m wishing the days I spent in denial
Hadn’t been final.

I’m wishing you’d stayed so my words you could hear,
I’m sorry, my dear.

My regret is rife
With sorrow and strife,
I’m wishing again to be part of your life.
