I'M the Devil
I'm the Devil, but I'm also God,
looking within, I find myself there.
And hiding behind belief's facade,
I'm all alone, though it feels unfair.
Evil dwells within my darkest parts,
my ego always places me first.
But goodness thrives in my heart of hearts,
I am the best, and I am the worst.
Defining good, I acknowledge bad,
I'm both free and a religious slave.
Faith's unbridled joy oft leaves me sad,
questioning what lies beyond the grave.
I'm both the beginning and the end,
a mix of sinner and contrition.
A reality fantasy blend;
I am hope, and I am derision.
