I'M Still Standing

You’ve beaten me to the bone 
You tell me that no one can hear my cries
Not even God himself
And as you’re pretending that my thought don’t bother you
I am still standing 
And I am standing strong

Don’t you know that my  thoughts are all about you?
Revenge is on my side
and you will get what you deserve
You can continue to beat me to the bone 
But I will still be standing 
I will be standing strong

No matter what you say to me 
No matter how hard you beat me 
I will not give in and please you by tears falling from my face
I will not move away from you and I will take the beating like a soldier
I will be standing
And I  will be standing strong 

And soon you will regret that you ever messed with me 
Because I will still be standing no matter what you do or say to me
Because I AM STILL STANDING 
AND I AM STANDING STRONGER THAN EVER

Jared Pickett March 12, 2010 at 12:45 PM Good for you... The two closest females in my life have both been through abuse as I was forced to sit by and play counselor, The warm shoulder.. I did not mind, They "loved" him, and that was his way of showing it, leave him alone, are things they would tell me... As a brother and a best friend I did what made them happy... Now, because of my encouragement throughout the years they are both married to men that they deserve and who in turn deserve them.... Wonderful poem my friend.....:JP]
