I'm Sorry

In the echoes of my mistakes, I hear your pain,
A sorrow that I've caused, a heart that's in vain.
I know "sorry" is just a word, a feeble attempt,
To mend the shards of trust, the love that's been rent.

No justification can excuse my wrong,
No excuse can take away the hurt I've sown.
I was blind, I didn't think, I didn't see,
The damage I caused, the tears you've cried for me.

I admit, I was wrong, my actions, a mistake,
A lesson learned, a path I'd rather not partake.
I've come out of the shadows, out of the night,
To face the dawn, to shine a light on my plight.

This apology's not just words, it's from the core,
A heart that's broken, a soul that's sore.
I know forgiveness won't come easy, it's hard to forget,
But I'm not asking for that, just a chance to reset.

We're human, we're flawed, we stumble and fall,
But it's in our darkness that we find the strength to stand tall.
I'm sorry, not just for what I've done,
But for the pain I've caused, the love that's been undone.

I'm sorry now, and I'll be sorry forever,
For the hurt I've caused, the love that will never be the same.
I'll carry this regret, this weight, this shame,
And hope that someday, somehow, you'll find it in your heart to forgive, to love again.

May my apology be the first step towards healing,
May my regret be the bridge that leads to understanding.
I'm sorry, with every fiber of my being,
Hoping that you'll find it in your heart to forgive, to love, to begin.
