Im Sorry

When you first left, I was broken into pieces.
Had no happiness couldn’t even think of a future.
I sat out on the wooden rocking chair on rainy days;
Waiting for you to come running back to sit with me.
Mindlessly staring at the door for weeks on end.
Just wishing, to see your face at least once again.
The last words I said were a bit too harsh;
Now that I see time spent can’t be brought back.
The pain that I have inflicted cannot be changed.
My dear, it feels as if three summers already came.
Maybe one day will meet again if we do I hope;
You can forgive me for all that has been said.

Nicely written. can you kindly tell me what you meant by "Mindlessly staining" at the door. or would it be - staring - at the door. or is it a metaphor? and here, would the word be "inflicted" instead "inflected" - the pain that i have inflicted? thank you.
