Notes About The Poem

I don't know why i've waited for over 73 years to wonder why Easter is celebrated on such a variety of days from year to year. Thanks to Google I've found out, whether it makes sense or not, and I've written the following poem about it. I think I know now, and I hope you do also. Just believe!

I'M So Confused By Easter

I'm So Confused By Easter

I'm so confused by Easter
Not how it came to be
But when we celebrate it
For all the world to see

Calculated by the moon and sun
And the season of the year
It's base the vernal equinox
Even then it's not so clear

The church, in all its wisdom
Declared March twenty-first the date
Although the equinox may be
A little earlier or late

Then go forward to the full moon
Yes, the next that comes around
The next Sunday then is Easter
It's as confusing as it sounds

The earliest that Easter comes
Is on March twenty-two
The latest April twenty-fifth
I'm as confused as you

Christ's death is not as easy
As was his birth I say
Twenty-five December
Is always Christmas Day

My wife and I just had an discussion over the same thing. I said it had something to do with the equinox, she said I was silly. Have a great day
