I'M No Stranger To Pain
As a divorced mother
I am no stranger to pain
I wake up every morning
To thunder and rain.
Each and every day
My kids live without
But they never complain
Or scream and shout.
I work long hours
And do the best that I can
But sometimes dinner
Is still an empty pan.
We have no place
To call our own
No big yard
For my children to roam.
In the dark of night
I break down in tears
Like a vulnerable child
I surrender to my fears.
There are many times
I just want to give up
To run and hide
With my empty cup.
But God gives me the courage
To always stand tall
He picks me up
Whenever I fall.
As a divorced mother
I’m no stranger to pain
But I have three treasures
That chase away the rain.
