I'M No Stranger To Pain

As a divorced mother I am no stranger to pain I wake up every morning To thunder and rain. Each and every day My kids live without But they never complain Or scream and shout. I work long hours And do the best that I can But sometimes dinner Is still an empty pan. We have no place To call our own No big yard For my children to roam. In the dark of night I break down in tears Like a vulnerable child I surrender to my fears. There are many times I just want to give up To run and hide With my empty cup. But God gives me the courage To always stand tall He picks me up Whenever I fall. As a divorced mother I’m no stranger to pain But I have three treasures That chase away the rain.

Hello Deborah once more! I do hope that the friends you make here, will help in some small way to encourage and support you during those dark times when you get overwhelmed. You have so much on your shoulders, and though you don't know any of us out here in "cyber space", please know thoughts and prayers can do wonders....and I for one, will keep you in mine! Thank God for your three treasures...God Bless you all. ~Carrie

This poem is so sad and so beautiful and it tells of our societies greatest fault - I want to thank you for the remarkable comment that you just warmed my heart with - You know I have tried so hard to make amends for the man I once was - I turned my life over to the Lord in Prison and in return he gave me my gift of poetry - I try hard to use it the best I can and when I get a comment like I just got from you it gives me hope that I'm on the right path - I hope the best for you - God Bless
