I'M Dying One Death At a Time

I'm dying one death at a time
coming from an old day into the new with less life
my decaying body like slippers for my soul

I'm dying one dream at a time
cascading from nightmares to sweet dreams
Into hell then heaven all in the same stream

I'm dying one thought at a time
living between fantasy and real life
with eyes that see, what once was has become a lie the next

I'm dying one soul at a time
unsure of who I am from one moment to the next
A stranger in my own slippers
