I'M Down Here
I'm down here God,
one small face in the sea of faces looking up to see you,
feel you and love you.
I'm one small speck of sand on the endless beaches of this world hoping to be noticed by you.
I'm fighting, dodging, ducking the snares of this world to be worthy of your notice.
Do you see me God?
Do you feel my love?
Can you hear me over the waves upon waves of prayers, shouts, cries and praise coming your way?
Will you remember me God over the glorious memories of Adam, Noah, Moses and Job?
Over the triumphs of Mary, David, the Apostles and Jesus?
I'm down here God, loving, fearing, reaching for you.
I'm down here waiting for your return.
I'm down here but I pray to be with you at the end of my days.
Remember me God when I leave this world.
Make a place for me...
up there.
