I'M Being Stalked

He followed me in and followed me out
I started to run, he started to shout
footsteps I hear but never look back
breathing I feel, see nothing but black
running in an alley, I've never seen before
looking for an opening, a window or a door
hiding in a corner, sucking in my breath
thinking in advance to avoid my sudden death
closer and closer, the shadow appears
I close my eyes and cover my ears
I come to the end of a very dark street
and turn to my left, it was right next to me
I never look up and never look down,
I'm standing there silently, not making
a sound
I slowly but surely open my eyes
there was nobody there to my surprise
what's wrong with me, am I going blind
how could I not see, this shadow is mine

Good day to you, Tyesha! Love this piece..the mystery, the intrigue...one feels that they flee along-side of you. Oh la...then to find out that the "stalker" was your shadow, was mind blowing:) Hilarious ending, certainly more so because of the ominous feeling it had provoked. Oh la..shadows can be so silently shifty..hehe Best to you and yours...with love, Mikki
