I'm Always Right Here

I'm always within striking distance, so...

                   Reach out to me, if you find that
                  Hope has lost its way in the desert
                   And died of thirst. If you find that 
                   You have trouble finding your way 
             Out of the dark; I'll be your beacon of light

          I'm always right here, so never despair
               I promise I'll never be a stranger
             I'm always right here, so never fear
     The gateway to my heart is always ajar, for you
          I'll be your guide, your deus ex machina

       Come find me, whenever you need encouragement
              Whenever you need a shoulder to lean on
              Whenever you need someone to confide in
          Whenever you feel crestfallen and need comfort
            Whenever it seems that all is irretrievably lost

           Run to me, should the strangehold of loneliness
      Threaten to asphyxiate you. Should you need someone
       To dry your tears. Should misfortune strait-jacket you
                Trapping your wings, and you can't leap 
       Into the wind and take flight. I'll take you under mine

               Put your faith in me, should the hallway to
             Your private heaven become a trapped space
       Just know that I'll be around to clear the path for you
    Should you need someone to help you journey through life
    I'll be by your side, and I'll stay as long as you want me to

               I'm always right here, so never despair
                   I promise I'll never be a stranger
                 I'm always right here, so never fear
