I'M a Po-Et

People tell me that I’m now a poet I've still got a lot to learn and don’t I know it I like to write with humour and wit You may like my writes or think they are rubbish (couldn’t think of suitable rhyming word here) Some days my ideas just flow and flow Other days my muse has a long way to go I hate the days my brain is constipated When I can’t find the words I get so frustrated I need a dose of Movicol to get my movement going Blockage will be cleared and my poems will be flowing Other times my words gush like verbal diarrhoea Inspiration flows like a river and I whoop and cheer Thought I’d share this with you and keep you in the loop You can read my outpourings here on Poetry Soup Jan Allison 1st October 2014

If you are not a poet, then none of us are.. You are a poet when you write real poetry. You surely do that and do it so very well. Critics, who are they and why does it matter what they say? The greatest living now and famous dead poets all had critics, often very severe ones. Write, enjoy and learn. Life needs poets..

I can't believe the roller coaster of a journey I've been on in the 8 months since I joined the site - having never written anything since my school days it's now like a tap I can't turn off and I'm having the time of my life and learning so much not only about poetry but about myself too:-) hugs jan xxx

Very nice flowing couplets Jan! It was a delight to read you my sweet friend. Truly love it and for sure is a favs keeper here in my S.P. page. Yes, most of us poets writers painters go thru dry periods, but the muse is always returns Jan. There's always room to learn and grow and that goes for poetry too. The more you write it everyday the best it will be for you.You get a 7 rating from me for this one. Okay! LolHugs! Keep writing Jan! :) love and light! Xxxxx D.

You are funny but you are not as silly as me. I am the king of silly. Here's a story. I go to the contests the other day. I see animals is up and the winners announced. Great! I do something else scroll down to an older contest without thought. I see that Cas is number one on the list. I get all excited go to her page. Do the woo woo thing. Your number one, yeah! Post it. I look at the other comments and there I am two days before. Make a post apologizing and leave my tail between my legs.
