Notes About The Poem

I'M a Little Teapot

I’m a little teapot* Of that there is no doubt I need my first fix in the morning Or I will scream and shout! The kettle whistles to let me know It’s time to make my tea The tea bag is waiting in my cup There is always plenty of tea for me Every morning I drink Tetley’s - I don’t leave the bag too long to stew! In the afternoon I will drink green tea It is such a refreshing brew Tetley tea I make with a little milk I drink around eight cups a day It’s my favourite drink in the world I'd rather drink tea than café au lait! Wake up with a coffee or tea contest Sponsored by Kim Rodrigues *First line is from a nursery rhyme ‘I’m a little teapot’ The song was originally written by George Harold Sanders and Clarence Z. Kelley and published in 1939. My mum is also a big tea drinker and I’ve always referred to myself as a ‘teapot’ 12~01~16

Just came across this and thought it was really neat. I love some sweet tea and also some peppermint tea made with either hard or soft mints. Glad to see you're staying hydrated, that's a good thing. Interesting how we have the same last name. Don't drink tea much, don't need the added sugar and not big on sweeteners except the sugar free Fuji Apple flavored carbonated water at Wal-mart 1ltr about 80¢ a bottle. Keep writing and stay hydrated. :-)

This is really cute, but eight cups a day? It is probably good for you. Tea is for civilized people!! I guess that means I shouldn't have any. My favorite is pure mint.

What a lovely cute poem, Jan! Most English love their cup of tea. I rarely have tea, and I like Earl Grey, but I can't live without my coffee! Hugs // paul

I'm obviously not English but I do love tea. My mother drank her tea in a large bowl with one bag only. Love the animated photo, too. We have an English tea here in the market called Barry's. Is it a real English brand or just a name? I don't buy it because it's very expensive, so I stick to Ted Rose My very favorite tea is Chinese Thanks for the stops by. / M

Omigawd give me some tea! Such a great poem, Jan! "The soul of a tea drinker" you have found. I like coffee too, bigtime, but can't see going beyond 4 or 5 cups a day. But heck, with tea there really is no limit.

This was cute Jan but I never pictured you as short and stout. :) Just kidding, nicely done my friend. I'm not a hot tea drinker, iced tea all of the time but coffee is my morning wake up cup. Not that I have anything against tea drinkers, they are some of the finest people I know. :)
