“I like the idea of taking off like a bird.” — Florence Welch
I am suddenly awakened from my dream from a loud sound
Not sure where I am, but I’m in a tree high above the ground
I feel light, airy and I am dressed in bright blue whimsy fluff
It may be my imagination, but my feet feel sharp and rough
I am enjoying this reverie as I sit perched up in the oak tree
My arms are now wings and I have a visualization of flying free
I feel delightfully happy as I start to croon, chirp and sing
It may be a hallucination, but I also feel my tail feathers swing
I decided to take a big risk and flap my wings to try to fly
To my delight and surprise, I am now happily soaring in the sky
It’s now three am as I’m suddenly awakened from my bed
And look at my clock as a blue feather falls from my head
