Notes About The Poem

image of Mother's autumn quilt (from poetess' personal scrapbook)

For as long as I can remember, Mother quilted using scraps of material she accumulated over the years. The image of her quilting stirs such delightful memories.

Poem written for and submitted to “Illusku: Illustrated Haiku Challenge 2 Poetry Contest,” JCB Brul sponsor, October 10, 2025.

Such a beautiful piece. Sometimes years back, even my grandmother , mother, aunts etc..used to make such quilts, but now, no one does it anymore.
