Illuminate Me in Darkness, My Love

Illuminate Me in Darkness, My Love

I don't want to hear the truth like a cruel prophecy,
Tell me that you love me like a sacred prayer,
Promise that you'll never abandon me in this wasteland,
Convince me that I hung the moon, the sun and the stars,
To live in the illusion that I am your entire universe.

Lie to me, darling, that the sex was like a cosmic explosion,
Force me to accept that your vows were truth absolute,
Assure me that the world is at peace like in a child's dream,
That war, hatred and poverty are just vanished phantoms,
And that all the children of the world have stomachs full of happiness.

Brainwash me that love is not a crystalline lie entire,
That forever still exists in the kaleidoscope of time,
Embrace me so tightly that I gasp for air desperately,
Convince me that our meeting was pure serendipity,
Not just coincidence in an indifferent and cold universe.

Persuade me, induce me, deceive me with finished art,
But whatever you do, my love, don't you dare tell me,
That you're leaving me like a flower that slowly withers,
Let me live the lie one more day in this theater grand,
I can bear the delirium if I'm allowed the magical illusion.

Illuminate me in darkness, my love, with the flame of falsehood,
Let me be blinded by the radiance of your beautiful lie,
I can live in this inverted world where everything is dream,
Where your words become my distorted reality complete,
And where truth is forbidden in our temple of illusion pure.
