Notes About The Poem

In this tense political environment, maybe a smile is in order. Maybe some levity on both sides of the aisle would help.

I'll Say Anything, Anything

I'll say anything to get my way
I do it several times a day

I'll say anything to get what I want
Once it's mine, I really love to flaunt

The truth doesn't matter to me at all
To my opponents, each one must fall

I think I know what best to do
In my way? I'll run over you

Power's the only thing that will matter
To win my favor, you must flatter

I've never known what was just
Because there's no one I'd ever trust

It's so simple to dissuade
Just divert and then evade

If you think this sets a precedent
Then I say this, "I'm the President!"

is a certain head of state hiding something ...is said person maybe of the opposite sex and so in the wrong body...a paranoid psychosis could explain all the trophy level bullshit... and loving thine enemy while throwing thy friends under a bus

How could one ever decry "loving thine enemy", the core element of compassion? Thanks for the comment. Namaste.
