I'Ll Be Drinking Again

When the thought comes a callin
That's when the guilt soon sets in
Cause that's when I know
I'll be drinking again

Whether up on the counter
Or in the front of my fridge
I'll only leave empties
I'll be back on a binge

I may go for weeks
And somehow stay dry
But what sparks it is want
So why put up a fight

Drinking again, Drinking again
Got a thirst water cant quench
Devil on my shoulder says he's my friend
Oh Lord, soon I'll be drinking again

Just stop and pull over
I've got my tonight all planned
You best leave me alone
Cause I'll be drinking again

That's when the ideas flow
From my head to the pen
That's part of the reason
I'll be drinking again

So don't fault me brother
Cause I live with this sin
And I'm not very proud
Of this shape that I'm in

Don't call me a drunkard
I'm not trying to fit in
If my inspiration runs low
I fill my tank up again

Drinking again, Drinking again
Got a thirst water cant quench
Devil on my shoulder says he's my friend
Oh Lord, soon I'll be drinking again

I knew Haggard and Jones
But they weren't my friends
Just look where they got
From drinking again

I only hope that these verses
That to your ears I send
Can come close to theirs
And that you'll comprehend

So feel as you must
A hangovers my plan
I'm happy not proud
I'll be drinking again

I fear if I'm sober
I'll lose these skills like my friends
That's why you can bet
That I'll be drinking again

I'm more honest than proud
I'll be drinking again
