Il Castillo Di Baucis E Philemon
Come, come into their humble home,
Come, come and watch them live,
All are welcome here,
Whether from far or near.
Come, come and heed their example,
Come, smell the bacon in the chimney,
the herbs hanging from the rafters,
And hear their pious laughter.
Come, look not on the outside
of their simple cottage,
But, come, look on the inside,
at the sincere smiles.
Come, do not show your pride,
For King Zeus and swift Hermes
Deemed it worthy in which to abide-
The home of this noble pair
Of Phrygia.
