AWe John we have all been there. Dickens, had no end of refusals with his stories so did many others. believe in yourself. I have also faced this myself but I have a strong conviction and are having a book published. think you should do one too. What a clever title drew me in. your brilliant trust me. your poems are real, you have a real talent. I like how you use humour to get important points across, very clever. take care, don't give up.
