Ignorant Or Innocent

The nature of life is simple but sublime The key to the extension of one's life Is through procreation As it guarantees the survival of genes Passed on down the timeline But invariably there will be threats And unfavorable conditions Some are non-negotiable But others remain up for debate Logic thus indicates The best course of action Is to eliminate the negotiable concern With vigor and conviction But sometimes this endeavor Is not as simplistic as we desire We are bogged down by the ignorant Who cannot see the future being dealt So everyday we make a choice Are we to be dictated by the ignorant Thus ensuring the continuation of negotiable threats For our youngest and most at risk The answer is most unfortunately yes For decades we have been swayed by the unwashed By the ignorant who reject science By the beast who makes us all but cattle for catastrophe By the ignorant who every day Bring us to the brink of global calamity In my heart burns an undying rage The all-consuming day ruining anger For every damned fool who continues to ignore facts That this world is in peril And it is thanks to humanity itself So we must ask ourselves And to answer we must look deep within our souls We must look to our convictions And we must look at every young innocent Whose futures are up for debate We must ask ourselves Is this truly the best course for our survival Because time is running out The longer we delay the more inevitable the fall So ask yourselves this Do we entertain the ignorant Or do we salvage the innocent?

Unfortunately yes, this is the BIG yes: "We are bogged down by the ignorant Who cannot see the future being dealt So everyday we make a choice Are we to be dictated by the ignorant Thus ensuring the continuation of negotiable threats For our youngest and most at risk The answer is most unfortunately yes" So sad, and so true, Christopher.
