Ignorance Is Bliss
Sometimes, in life it is best when ignorance is bliss,
than trying to correct something and go amiss;
and when at work and people are gossiping as they do,
I do not listen- I leave as their words are probably not true;
and when I am asked about "it" I play dumb,
with headphones on I really did not even hear a crumb !
When friends are complaining to me about this and that,
I just nod and smile sipping tea while I pet my cat;
I feel sometimes people just need to talk for a release,
but, I do not want their problem to disturb my peace;
though that does not mean I would not help a real issue,
of course, I would hold their hand and offer a tissue !
