If You Wonder

IF YOU WONDER*

Wonder not, my friend, that the
buds of love seldom bloom in
Men’s souls,

It’s because of

The blizzard of self-indulgence that
Hardly ever allows care for others to
Defrost!

*Answer to Jack Ellison’s verse:

“What a wonderful place this
world would be If love replaced hate in
men's souls.”

Pride, or self esteem that is being taught to our children in public schools; which feeds indulgence. Just the opposite of what the Bible teaches. You have wisdom, my friend.

D, Look on this site. How many poems are love poems written by men. Hundreds! We although built difference still carry within our human souls, love, romance, compassion, and we also have learned to nurture and with it protect those we love. Allan

You honour me, kind sir! Yes "man's self-indulgence" clouds his thinking as to the needs of others. As always, great words from a great philosopher poet. By the way, you now have a much friendlier avatar! LOL

Well, sometimes inspiration works in mysterious ways! I thought it could be right to give Jack an answer for if you see half of my poems deal with peace! From " We Are Brothers" written back in 1984 till "THE FORMULA" just written a few days before Jack wrote " Eileen and I". All these years I look to promote peace and love and to find out why people fail to love! Thank you so much for your visit, you so kind!

Thank you my dear poetess! Yes, it is the "ring of truth" that beautifies it but truth also is its weak point as it hurts some people! Thank you again!
