If You Only Knew

If you only knew how much I loved you, 
And how much it hurts 
Knowing each moment you’re in the arms
Of another.
Every time I think of you; my heart breaks
Over, and over again; I try not to pick up
The phone, but the feeling of loneliness plagues 
My soul.
I never thought this day would come;
I thought holding you would be an eternity.
Now you have my heart bound, and tied.
I gave it my all, and I know I really tried my best.
This scale was one sided; one giving more
Than they received; now you’re gone, and
I’m left feeling all alone.
Maybe it was for the best; being with you
Was just a test, but one thing I found out was you
Were just like the rest.
